About Boardroom Gambit

Boardroom Gambit is a free CEO simulator you can play in any browser, on your phone or your computer. You take over a company and spend up to five years making the calls that make or break it: takeovers, recalls, scandals, layoffs, moonshot bets, activist investors and whistleblowers.

Based on real business history

Almost every scenario is based on a publicly documented corporate decision. Examples include a video-rental giant that passed on buying a tiny streaming start-up, a carmaker that cheated on emissions tests, a painkiller maker's nationwide recall, a bank whose bond portfolio sank it in 48 hours, and a toy company that came back from near-bankruptcy. Real names are replaced with fictional ones. After each decision you can open its Case File to learn what happened in real life.

Consequences that echo

Shortcuts don't always hurt right away. A choice you make in Year 1 can trigger an investigation in Year 3. Gambles depend on your company's morale, reputation, board trust and innovation. Your executives remember how you treated them.

How to win

Finish your term with a high share price, a loyal team and a clean conscience. You'll get a legacy title, from The Legend to The Teflon Tycoon, plus a grade from S to D.
